Backend developer

Job description:

- Developing high-quality, reusable code adhering to best practices

- Developing functional and maintainable backend applications

- Continuously optimising performance and addressing bugs

- Contributing to the overall application lifecycle

- Defining and communicating technical and design requirements

- Conducting code reviews and providing constructive feedback to maintain code quality

- Staying up to date with current best practices and exploring new technologies

- Using AI tools for improved productivity

- Mentoring junior colleagues and supporting their technical and professional growth

Requirements:

- 3 or more years of experience as a backend developer in Java or Kotlin

- Proven ability to design, develop, and deploy applications using Spring Boot

- Experience with building automation tools (Gradle and Maven)

- Track record of working with Git and GitLab for version control in a team environment

- Demonstrated knowledge and practical application of CI/CD principles and tools

- Experience with performance profiling tools to optimise application performance

- Experience working with cloud-based infrastructure (Docker, Kubernetes, and/or Azure)

- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, OpenSearch) is a plus

- Strong verbal and written communication in English and Slovenian

- Strong decision-making, communication, teamwork, collaboration and organizational skills
